My name is Augie De Blieck Jr. I’ve been programming professionally for quite a while now, mostly in Perl but also with experience in various RDBMSes, JavaScript, and Python, with explorations into Ruby, Python, and Elixir along the way.
I don’t use an ORM. I write SQL code.
I don’t use a framework, generally speaking. I use HTML/JS/CSS and some backend code to get the job done. (That said, I did do one project in Vue. I like Svelte. I’m trying to learn React now, since that seems to be where the jobs are.)
I look forward to the day when the Venn Diagram finally hits me where “Programming Stuff I’m Interested In” finally overlaps with “Where the Big Money Is.”
You can email me at augiedb on the GMail thingy that all the kids like.
I’m also on BlueSky, Twitter, Threads, Instagram, and some random node on Mastodon as “augiedb”.
This blog started 22 years ago as a thing that blogs used to be back then — disconnected thoughts on anything and everything I was interested in at any given moment. It’s been offline for a decade now or longer. I’m bringing it back in 2023 to be my programming blog, where I’ll talk about disconnected things in the world of computer programming and everything I’m interested in at any given moment.
I hope to someday put some effort into making it look good, as well. WordPress offers million of themes, and they all stink. I know, I know. I should just make this a Jekyll site or something. It wouldn’t surprise me if I did someday…
